Critterature: A Zebraic Conundrum

...or Yipes! Stripes! The zebra lives in Africa On the plains of the Serengeti. Though often foppish and vain, He doesn't complain 'bout his place in the alphabet. He leads a fairly innocuous life With few, very minor, distractions, And when tourists come to "ooh" and "aah", He's one of the major attractions. There is one vexing question, though, That keeps him up at night: Those stripes of his, are they white on black, Or are they black on white?

This is a cool poem. I love the zoo. Zebras are one of my favorite animals. Thanks for your writings.

Must be nice to be able to stay in his pajamas all day, Jim The encyclopaedia Britannia says zebras are black with white stripes. Good point to ponder though. SuZ

Thanks, Suzanne. I've always suspected as much, but I guess the zebras never got the memo.

I can identify with the alphabet problem. As far as the black or white thingy, there was a Star Trek TOS episode that tackled that. Maybe our zebra friend should watch?

Thanks, Tom, but they probably don't get very good TV reception on the Serengeti.
