Crimson
Is crimson the new black
Or just a poet's muse
Should I be standing before the jury
Yes your honor, it is true
What will be the new crimson
Candy apple red
That sounds crisp, and cliched
Perhaps scarlet instead
Oh yes scarlet sounds brazen
Is ruddy even a hue
spill the kidney beans, will you crimson
What is your relationship to blue
Is it a burgundy vintage
Red will always be the new wine
A hidden army of terra cotta
A hint of cosa nostra in carmine
Crimson, you dazzle in your elegance
you deserve the shining light
Lets accede to Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Now sleeps the crimson petal, now the white
