Cranberry Cries

Was on my way to sleep
But I heard tires screech
Then heard voices yelling
The tone was so foretelling

Domestic violence in the wind
“Open the door let me in”
Some more yelling again
Then silence as if a sin

I’ll lay awake longer tonight
Hoping everything is alright

Another total switch, from silence to screech and yell, sleep to fear, peace to concern. DV tears the whole community. You have given a voice to the individual and community pain.

I heard it all and despite no visual it was like being there. I lost sleep and feel tired today because of it
