Cowboy Going Nowhere
I love big ranches, cows and am a boy
Guess that makes me a cowboy
I love women, whisky and wide open spaces
Hanging inside smoky bars and betting on horse races
All this i do to escape what i cant bare
I am a cowboy going nowhere
I love leather boots and checked shirts
I am always in tight jeans and stetson hats
As in consume large steaks and ribs
As i compare women's **** and hips
I cheat on my wife every chance that comes
Swinging doors constantly between motels and night clubs
Staying out all night coming home drunk
All my money gone and stinking like a skunk
Whether she leaves me or stays i don't care
Am a cowboy going nowhere
Sometimes i work, back breaking work
Sometimes there is no work so i hang in my shack
All day whisky, cigarettes and the sound of old Westerns
Escaping reality watching John Wayne re-runs
Just like the fake movie gun flares
I am a cowboy going nowhere
In my dreams am the cowboy that saves the day
With a bag full of money to the sunset I ride away
A better life waiting for me somewhere out west
Where there is no trouble or a warrant for my arrest
Dreams are valid, but mine are neither here nor there
I am a cowboy going nowhere
I cant figure out where everything went wrong
My life is like a sad country song
I am a man from another time living a lie
But I will still do it my way till the day i die
Am living between borrowed time and a prayer
Am a cowboy going nowhere
