Courage
Living is for me, the first act of courage that I indulge in
Why, better off would I have been,
There, in that world, which acts as my screen
My screen, helping me revolve around a mirage!
Pray, courage is for me, swallowing my pride
And my gulp
And pretending to love the ride
Pretending to have not noticed that life is a trap
Courage is for me, the smile I wear on my face
Pretending to be made of warmth
To be able to give the lost and the cold, an embrace
While hiding my emptiness behind a stoic endurance
Courage is for me, daring to open my mouth and blurt
That which is rooted in my throat
Yes, for I am an introvert
One having a tendency to introspect
As it is, is life not a harsh thing
See the wars, the crimes, the hatred
Why, courage is smiling and pretending that everything is fine
When the need to find a cure is pulsating in each of our hearts!
Courage is living knowing that death is around the corner
That life, however much secure we try to make it
Remains uncertain
That in the end, we are to feel the pain!
As it is, the meaning of existence is yet to be deciphered
I trust somehow, one day, the higher powers we angered
Now, we are to suffer the consequences of our actions
We are to live, plagued by miseries, yet, we are to smile courageously
Courage is the first act of living
Living and facing each day, taking it as a new one!
