Courage

Blue eyes Beneath a Summer moon A gentle breeze A careless giggle And boyish banter A star shoots across the sky To the song of crickets And cicadas It's a gorgeous evening But it's so hot So a refreshing dip in the lake Soothes the ache A moment to be etched in the heart Friends gathered Never knowing it's for the last time For now it's a moonlight song A gentle buzz And sweet summertime Perhaps the grass already knows Watching the way it sways

You make the grass feel greener and the past keener. I have enjoyed your poem, We never know how long summertime lasts. Thanks for sharing.
