Country is coming to town
When I cannot write my soul will speak and my spirit will weep.
When my heart is heavy and my countenance is flat,
I quietly resort to the back and lost myself in thoughts
Until I recover my heart. I can hear your voice
in the distance and you are calling for someone
to give you a helping hand but they still don't’ understand.
You live for today, but you don’t know what’s going to come your way.
The wind is blowing in your back, turning up your frock so come and
Whisper somethings in my ears and help me to dry the tears
When life rips you up and throws you underneath the bus
I know that someone, somewhere in the universe cares.
Country is coming to town, and the mayor cannot be found,
Uncertainty is looming over their head for half of the globe is “dead”
A little win here and a little win there cannot remove the fear
You need a big breakthrough so the world can party with you.
Everyone has a need so move gingerly so that you can satisfy their greed.
The year is winding down and several deals are undone, the city is not clean
And stagnant water is running in the stream; the toilets are choked and the residue cannot
go into the ground and the stench spreads all around.
Country is coming to town, and the angels are moving from town to town
arrange a special seat for me so that I can stretch out my long feet and listen to the country’s heartbeat.
I am making big plans that only destiny understands and so I sit on the edge
of time, waiting for the tide to turn when I can swim across the shore.
country is coming to town, dressed in jacket and gown, brand new ties
and shoes that only the globe approved.
Country is coming to town, and you must be prepared for tensions are blubbing up from the ground so, meet with me on the other side of town before country come to town
there are deals to extend, documents to sign and bills to pay, so don't’ delay.
