Couldve Done Without the Rain

I love you Etched in stone One final goodbye glimpse Into his soul Through the years They both lived lies Each without the other Never satisfied He knew that she would come To see him at his grave She’ll always be his sunshine But they could’ve done without the rain They could’ve done without the distance They kept in life Could’ve done without the lonely Bitter sleepless nights If there ever was a love That had to quell its flame She was standing right before it Right there in the rain Sometimes the truth Stands before our eyes Our souls know what’s right But we still stay blind As she turned to walk away She softly spoke his name You know I’ve always loved you We could’ve done without the rain We could’ve done without the distance We kept in life You could’ve held me all those lonely Bitter sleepless nights If there ever was a love That had to quell its flame It’s standing right before you Amongst the teardrops and the pain As she walked away she reminisced of the old days How since they met their two lives were changed You can bet that I won’t let these, precious memories fade You were the one I loved and always wanted I could have done without the rain In every storm of life there’ll be a light.... We could’ve done with the rain
