Couch Potatoes
A wondrous title I'll admit
I wonder what I'll do with it?
Does genius color mind that dreams
Potato's link to TV screens?
A TV's 'tube' is close to 'tuber,'
Round and fat (predating Uber)
X-ray beams are bent to preen
Fluorescent shapes that grace its screen.
The outside world gets brought to you!
What freedom! You've got right to view
A life you'd like but never owned,
Deft sign of times, the mossy stoned.
The Truth you get is Truth tube serves you!
Liberty (conserved?) by those who
Grass avoid and "rope a dope!"
Moms needs to wash their mouths with soap!
Today, the boob tube's screen is flat
If vacuum's gone, still welcome mat!
Trump rapes! My God, he entertains
But Truth gets flushed for short-lived gains!
