Notes About The Poem

From the anthology, Carnivorous Avenues.

Costumes of the Naked

Satin fog essences.
Narrow shadows in the side streets.
Azure complacencies and cotton pleasures.
Costumes of the naked need the tender touch.
Hollow furs finding velvet purrings.
Swallowing remembrances . . .
Of old houses and ferns and breakfast biscuits,
Of bacon grease and flat tires and torn calendars,
Reclining like open girls,
Wet with the fears of death and decay.
Satin fog essences.
Narrow shadows in the side streets.
Azure complacencies and cotton pleasures.
Costumes of the naked need the tender touch.
