Corona Virus

A pandemic that plagues our minds
The weakest among us, it seeks and finds
Nonchalant at the start, we did not care
Far away from us, that is why, to be fair
Then it begins to spread far and wide
Across the world it’s seeds are spread
Leaving many in it’s wake, sadly ill and dead
To the shops we race and panic buy
As little by little more and more die
For my family only, and only their sake
But that is selfish and a mistake
Leaving some crumbs for those at the front
Let’s all get together and try and debunk
That Humanity is selfish and made of greed
Let’s get together and help those in need
Those who are on the red line trying to help us
In the long run it’s the only way, so we must
Helping us, by helping them
Scared of illness, scared to die
That shouldn’t stop us to even try
Loved ones dying, heartache hard to bare
It’s mostly the young, who carelessly dare
Spreading this disease around unwittingly
Who see the news as a joke and laugh cynically
We should see the facts from those who are ahead
Try to follow, but get ahead and learn instead
Otherwise we will have more and more dead
I’ve said it once before, and now again
History will judge us, so use your brain
We will only beat it, if we rise up as one
So many more will wake up and see another sun

Amar bhai, reminds me of a Scotland new item. A man walked the streets spreading the disease. --not wanting to die alone, taking innocents, like a terrorist. But your poem tells us we can rise higher as humans; some on the front line are risking their lives for us. UNITE, care for the weak, share ... all Faiths teach these. salaam and shalom/ shanthi Om.
