Cornucopia of Seasons
The winter has in store a vast supply
of church cantatas, Christmas gifts, and joy;
of Santa, snowball fights, hot cocoa by
the fire; of comfy overcoats and gloves;
of Valentines and winds of early March.
Spring ushers in a
plenitude of blooms: pink, white
and yellow; leaves that
clothe the trees; April showers,
Easter, school spring break, and proms.
The summer overflows with lengthy days,
July 4 celebrations; freedom’s praise;
trips to the beach, swim parties, heat and haze;
vacation Bible School and sun’s bright rays.
Fall spills out its abundance of days
that range from hot to downright cold,
sparkling frost and leaves that change
from green to brown and gold,
thrills of Halloween,
Thanksgiving meals
enjoyed at
Grandma’s
house.
