Corner of My Eye

On a sleepless night you spoke To me, and I wasn’t wearing your topaz ring Anymore, anymore. It was on the tip of my tongue; I loved You once but No more, no more. Eyes like ocean mists and chestnut locks, Almost a decade since I’ve touched your Ivory skin so say cruel clocks. Tears tasting like salt in a sea of regret Splashing against a distant shore. Once you stood there waiting but No more, no more.

"Tears tasting like salt in a sea of regret" this line hold much sadness. I must say though, after ten years, it's time to move on. Nicely written, Judith. Hugs, John

This poem mirrors a dream I had. My dream was like ocean current that was constantly "splashing against a distant shore". That line was my connection which is all a good poem needs to do. Thanks for sharing...............peace!

Years ago I was in a bookstore and discovered Anne Sexton. About an hour later I discovered Ms. Plath. These two great writers showed me that poetry is so much more than just form.

I've read several of your poems and was wondering, are you a fan of Sylvia Plath?
