CORN HUSKS, PORK, AND GUAJILLO

CORN HUSKS, PORK, AND *GUAJILLO ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the corn husk, brittle parchment from August fields, unfolds its grip— steam rising from the stove, like a ghost of summer inside, masa holds its secrets close: folded pork stained with cumin and guajillo~ autumn’s first comfort food , warmth against the coming cold.

Ahh!! Reads like a good food for those who like heat from peppers. Thanks for sharing this one with us, Sara B., I have never tried a tamale but have some other Spanish/Mexican foods. Maybe the Americanized version though. Sara K

thanks for visiting, Sara K. Although of German parents, I grew up eating tamales....not quite as spicy as the ones in this poem. hugs and blessings, Sara
