Contrary Similarities

Incognito, I stand exposed. Difficult days, of smooth sailing. Completely baffled, I do know. Happy endings, such tragedy. Right or wrong, see no difference. Great injustice, a fair outcome. Crimes committed, yet acquitted. Opposing theories, we think alike. Time to go, let's stay awhile. Sunny days, in dark of night. Come to terms, in disagreement. Willful blindness, I see it. Peace on earth, by warring factions. Democrats, ----- Republicans.

a number of paradoxes within your poem--they added depth and meaning to your message. A very timely political poem. I fear our politicians are full of 'willfull blindness' to the people who elected them to serve and represent them. I don't even want to get started....it all makes my blood boil. Have a great new year, Sara

Thank you Sara! You and I are like minded concerning these issues. I will fully support your candidacy for Senator in your state! Most seem to care not, for those who elected them! They are interested in maintaining their cushy positions of privilege, and making sure they support policy decisions that benefit their big donor base!

I read your poem and was struck by the way you juxtaposed seemingly opposite ideas to create a sense of tension and paradox. Your use of paradoxical phrases such as “difficult days, of smooth sailing” was particularly effective in conveying the complexity of human experience. It highlights the ways in which we are often blind to our own biases. The line “right or wrong, see no difference” is a powerful reminder of how easily we can become entrenched in our own beliefs. - blessings, Daniel

These days, two heads of the same snake. I do respect MTG, though. (It is like everyone was slipped crazy pills and conked on the head and a potato sack slipped over. Watch the screen, look to the left, the right. Shakes head, goes on to daily life, as it sinks deeper.
