Contemplation

I looked outside my window,
just the other day
As I watched the old trees leaves,
they slowly fell away
As slowly one by one did fall
With no pain, no hurt at all
Just the whispers of the trees
That still had all their leaves

What a lovely thing to see, if only I was that very tree.

If only we could shed our pain and problems like a tree sheds its leaves, Mockingbird.. a brilliant poem with deep and emotive introspection that truly moves me with its poignant beauty and imagery. Breathtaking poetry! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Beautifully written. I am glad that you are not that tree because then this contemplation would not be. You have a beautiful heart that seeks out the piece that is hidden so that you can share it with all who cannot see. Thank you for this contemplation.

Hello Mockingbird... nicely portrayed and my feeling is that you contemplated on being strong amongst those needing help - perhaps I'm wrong - thank you Mockingbird - Lindsay

Very insightful, you are correct! I was trying to portray someone having to hold everything together after a unsavoury type death whilst wanting to fall apart. Thankyou for taking the time to comment, greatly appreciated Lindsay!

a nice, poignantly reflective little write, that pairs rather well with my 'fallen' poem! thanks for your comment
