Connections

People meet people as their paths cross
The trend is for this so there is no loss
People need people to help them along
People need their friends and to belong

Life has a habit of helping us meet
Lots of new people for us to greet
Sometimes people they move away
Others are for life and always stay

You could meet a new friend anywhere
Hobbies and interests you find you share
Connections can be made down at the pub
Or in a café while eating some grub

Some friends are made while still at school
They sometimes drift away as a rule
Friends can be true or they can be fake
They never give much and always take

True friends you find are there all the while
They cry with you and smile when you smile
Meeting new people as you go on living
Loving them all and the love they are giving

Working all day with people who connect
Colleagues are there but friends you select
Throughout life you win some and lose some
Connections in abundance before life is done

So true Pamela, we need to mix and participate in society. Many a great friend has been made with a polite hello in many a place. Delightful wisdom in this poem >> James
