Global warming is now out of control;
the planet's ice caps are melting away,
and most nations haven't met their carbon goal.
It's too late; climate change is here today;
there's no time left for debate; it's begun
wreaking havoc despite what skeptics say.
What we did to the Earth can't be undone;
and we're destined to pay a hefty price,
which Nature will levy on everyone.
Though it's impossible to be precise,
lowlands will be profoundly affected;
as oceans rise and glaciers shed their ice.
Failing to recognize we're connected;
our stewardship of Earth's been neglected.
