Confessions of Love
Darling,
If I were but the rose,
you clutch within your hand
or just a moment in your day
words written in the sand.
If I were but the song,
the bird sings upon your window seal
or the smile perched upon your lips
the kisses I could steal.
If I were the twinkling stars,
your wishes would come true
the world could be our canvas
shared memories of us two.
If only I could catch a glance,
more precious than any gold
be a chapter in your life
it'd be, the greatest story told.
