Conditions of Confusion
Conditions of Confusion
I close my eyes and listen,
I wait and try to hear,
yet still no sound approaches,
the same as every year-
another circle finished,
retracing steps go past,
again the picture's shattered,
in broken shards of glass-
A lonely howl of anguish,
a cry of laughter soft,
the fallen dew a silver drop,
upon the forest moss-
but where is it still hiding,
that sweet, elusive sound,
the music and the symphony,
that clear and crystal sound-
waves of power crest,
then sink into despair,
in heavy burdened flying,
still laden, without share-
to soar and ne'er be conquered,
or drown, yet still alive,
and whispers on the fleeting breeze,
of darkened skies and shallow seas.
