Conditioned To Cry
A soul conditioned to cry,
does so: when trust falls apart.
And no longer wants to try,
to capture another's heart.
Finding fear's blocking its way,
love derails, jumping off track.
And silently slips away,
never to find its way back.
You gambled love was real,
hoping time wouldn't call your bluff.
And now pain is all you feel,
and hope is never enough.
You know that you will survive,
yet you've lost what made you smile.
And though time keeps hope alive,
you have not hoped for a while.
In this vulnerable state,
fractured dreams crumble away.
And abandoned to your fate,
emptiness consumes your day.
