Inspired by the 2013 movie ENOUGH SAID starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus and James Gandolfini  - A divorced woman who decides to pursue the man she's interested in learns he's her new friend's ex-husband, and she learns personal details.

I doubted myself I doubted us Impatience got the best of me I thought I’d have an edge Could not pass it up Why wait for fate to unfold I found myself at a crossroad Bordering on the deceitful Should have known better Caught in a lie I froze In a compromising situation Started innocent enough But was seen as a betrayal Harm done too late to turn back now No longer an innocent little secret The magic had disappeared Impatience the ultimate price The stars had seemed aligned Bringing out the best in us Betrayed you left Without looking back AP: 1st place 2020 Posted on March 10, 2019

Betrayal is something we all know; we're all victims eventually, evey those that do the betraying. Well put.

True. Nice when you can see at least some justice in this world. Karma.

Have not seen the movie you speak of but nevertheless enjoyed reading this poem - deceit and lies can only lead to heartache - very nicely penned Line. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

I saw this movie, Line, and this makes so much sense! She was in the wrong for sure; I remember how mean I thought she was. I could not believe he forgave her. A terrific tribute to the movie, my friend.

Thanks for your visit and comment, Caren. I love that kind of psychological movie. I could watch it over and over again.

Well, Line, I don't know how true to life your poem is regarding yourself but it surely is a good poem and true to life for many if not most people. i always try to remember this one: "To err is human; to forgive divine."And, IMO those are not just words. So, if it's true, 1st forgive yourself. Then, go forward with "lesson learned" and hope in your heart. Hugsss....

LOL - Carole, my poem is actually inspired from a movie that I found very touching. I'm sure if I stopped to think I could find some personal incident because as you say most of us have something we'd like to be forgiven for.

Compromise can be a terribly destructive thing! Well penned! ;) Hmmm, curious about the movie now....
