Compassion
COMPASSION
Coming back one cold winter morning from our local mall,
Outside McDonalds, a worldwide favourite port of call
Miserably, visibly frozen, shivering from head to toe,
Paced a vendor with a variety of goods, business seemed slow,
As thin as a rake, shivering and pleading with his eyes,
Someone, please buy from me so I can buy two pies,
Selling them at a discount, so I can escape this cold!
Immediately, as if God sent, a car stopped and lo and behold
Offered to buy the vendor’s goods this man took off his jacket,
Niftiest act ever, gave it to the vendor, with a McDonalds packet.
This is what compassion is all about.
