Coming Home

Listen to poem:
i remember coming home under the weight of fate’s hammer one nail already in your coffin the bell had rung loud and clear announcing the last round i brought you home my precious love what was left of you i brought you home where you belonged not sure how anything would play out time a blur nothing certain except we knew it was the last scene of the final act but as best we could dammit each moment would be one by one preciously savored AP: 1st place 2021 Submitted on April 30, 2021 for contest OPEN POETRY 4 sponsored by CHARLOTTE PUDDIFOOT

So touching, a FAV for me. I have been there and the old tears came back and reminded me of that time. Thanks you for so often our memories fade. I want to remember the good times and the bad. <3
