Comfy Clothes

Woke up Sunday morning
put on my Sunday best
'cause I didn’t want to go
and look different from the rest
when the meeting was over
was among the first to go
made a beeline home
put on some comfy clothes

Every weekday I work
must wear a suit and tie
feels so darn confining
it makes me wanna cry
by the time my shift is over
tell you goodness knows
can’t wait to get on home
put on some comfy clothes

Comfy clothes are great
doesn’t matter what the season
just can’t quite explain it
there is no rhyme or reason
but if you feel uptight
don’t know which way to go
things will get a little better
you put on some comfy clothes

Yes I can relate - the one nice thing about working on a holiday at my office is it's 'casual dress' which means jeans and tennis shoes at work - really like your poem, Mark-

Thank you for your kind, encouraging words, Michelle. Obviously you too are a member of the comfy clothes club :)

Comfy clothes for everyone! Comfy clothes for president! Let's marry comfy clothes! I jump into my comfy clothes the second I get into my house, often at the front door.

That’s what I’m saying! You have to change into them right when you get home to get the full benefit :)
