Comet's Lonely Journey

Born from origins unknown
Speeding across the darkness
The flame that ignited to guide me
As my quest begins as I streak straight ahead
Where it will take me? That is the question.

As I kept blazing down a straight road
To a destination that is unknown
I learn that I am not the only light
That lit up the dark that sparked curiosity.

Galaxies that waltzed with one another
Asteroid belts that spiraled in an endless loop
Broken rocks that strayed from the path
Pass by my sight with a quick hello
When they come my way.

From galaxies to worlds I've never seen
Each planet was like an easter egg
With its own special color pattern
I ponder what mysteries it held.

Sadly, I cannot stop to see its wonders
As I am destined to wander straight ahead
On an endless journey to a destination unknown
In this cold, vast universe I find myself in.

Is this how my story goes?
Am I to only travel alone?
To keep blazing down a straight line
Until I break up into nothing?

How I wished that was not my fate
How I wish my journey held meaning
How this lonely comet wished for a companion
To journey with me through this endless universe.
