Notes About The Poem

Come To Me

Come to me when love has robbed you blind
Come to me in search of someone kind
Come to me when tears run down your face
Come to me in search of saving grace
Come to me

Come to me when life cannot fulfill
Come to me in search of that sweet thrill
Come to me when tongues are filled with lies
Come to me in search of lover's prize
Come to me

Come to me when longing breaks your soul
Come to me in search of what makes whole
Come to me when night won't yield to dawn
Come to me in search of dreams now gone
Come to me

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will not ask you where your heart has been
I will not leave you out, but welcome in
I will not close my ears to troubled sigh
I will not ask what you have done or why
Come to me
I'll give to you a welcome in my bed
I'll give you pillowed breast for weary head
I'll give to you a drink of nectar sweet
I'll give you night of love the dawn to greet
Come to me
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Come to me before night bleeds to day
Come to me before you lose the way
Come to me before this love grows old
Come to me before your heart goes cold

Come to me

This sweet poem flows as sincerely as the hands that penned and painted it upon canvas of reader's mind. How thoughtful and kind and welcoming. Namaste!

Utterly charming verses. Great continuity on different aspects, but still the same theme. And, of course, there is plenty of genuine emotion.

Eileen, your poem is filled with such sweet emotion that my words cannot convey the depth of emotion reading it brought out in me. What a magnificent poet you are. Your poem has me in tears! I don't supose you know how really wonderful this poem is? It is going into my fav's and I may just have to print it out to include in an anthology of love poems I just bought, with your kind permission of course? This goes to prove it is the feeling behind the words that matters most in poetry. Thank you!

Thanks, Connie. I did. I also mentioned that you are the one who has come up with the Constanza form. I love it. I should write a poem in that form again. It is so sweet. Hugs

Connie....Connie.....I'm so touched by your post. How sweet. Oh...I'm overwhelmed with emotion. My poems are my little babies and nothing gives me more joy than when one of them is admired and loved. Yes...please...go ahead. I'm so honored. Do you mind terribly if I share your post on Facebook? You know what they say...."A prophet is without honor in his own home." This means so much to me. Hugs

Thank you, David. I'm glad to have your visit and comments on my poem. I'm touched by your words. I am a giving soul...I often long to love a little less...It's hard when love is too passionate and too strong...it has the power to wound and disable. I've felt that...and yet, I believe true love is the essence of life....hugs
