Come Looking For Me

I will not come looking for you
I will stay in my cocoon…

Here it’s safe and warm
Here there is no harm
Here there is no fear
Here there is no tear
Here there is no pain
Here there is no bane

I will not come looking for you
You may come in search of me
And I can guarantee
That here you will find
A word that is kind
A smile that is true
A kiss just for you
A nice warm embrace
A sweet smiling face
A shared little rhyme
A feeling sublime

I won’t coming looking for you
I’ve done that and cried
I do have my pride
All silliness aside…
Here’s advice that is free:
Come, come looking for ME!

Yes this is the voice of a lady who respects herself, and its the only way the other can respect her too.I am an old fashioned girl maybe..but I do believe in being treated the way a lady should.Really enjoyed this

Don't underestimate this poem, wisdom flows between the lines. Sometimes it is best not to pursue and see who your true admirer's are. As you know, I am high on that list.

I think its lovely how the only part of the poem that doesn't rhyme is You and Me in the last verse, these two are a harmonious rhyme unto themselves. Beautiful clarity Eileen...J.A.B.

Fate , Sends It's Choice I looked for "you" for decades and a while that joyful spirit and so, so beautiful smile Then time struck deeply with it's price heart grew cold, cold as Artic ice A freezer replaced this yearning heart soon I forgot even how to start Yet fate that so toyed with my emotions did finally deliver a love, a love potion! I found another beauty from a far away land fate must have had that blessing in it's plan Strange that life sends us on journeys anew we end up so very blessed but haven't a clue Here is to your inspiration , beauty and charm May God bless, forever and a day keep you from harm! Dedicated to an inspiring poetess, that has so very much. A friend that dazzles with great personality, talent and charm! See how you inspire my friend???

Robert....I'm very touched by your post. An inspiring poetess is probably the most cherished title that I am proud of. Only mother...could outdo that. Thank you so much for reading my work and finding the time to encourage me in my journey. May you be blessed for your kindness.

Search for this heart, that will not tear you apart; A cracked window to this soul, I challenge you to fill me whole; One life to lead, upon stratospheric breeze, humanity waits for no one, so please...come with me. <--- yup, this is what just happened after I read this. Thank you for triggering my mind to write this out. Seriously.
