Come For Me, Love

Come for me, Love, in a July When summer surf is running high Watching steamers on the sea’s crest Like we did from our lovely nest On the beaches in old Dubai. Since you are gone, I often try, As I watch fancy yachts go by, To choose one you would like the best Come for me, Love. Thoughts of you, my tears never dry After all these years, I still cry, Life, for me, has lost fonder zest Since you went to eternal rest I long to join you when I die, Come for me, Love.

I believe that our loved ones do come for us when we die, and it is the most wonderful thing to see them again.

I would like to think that is the case. I do not know, but it is truly wonderful to think that way. I have told people when we die God awaits to welcome us, not judge us!

Melancholy in daydreams hurts the heart, but it does wonders for poetic thoughts. Nice one, Milt.

Nice little remembrance poem, Milton. Your mention of Dubai reminds me of a number of years I spent living and working in Alexandria, Egypt. A place where one can smell ancient history in the air. Makes me want to write about it and I think I will. Thanks for sharing and triggering my own fond memories. Cheers, Terrell (AKA "Terry" Martin)

Such an endearing write Milton, for a lovely soul. Your words share a love that few find in life. You are one of the fortunate one's to do so my friend. Your love radiates from your heart and is shown in these acknowledging words of your beloved. She lives in your heart and is in your being forever until that day that you rejoin again with her. Wonderfully written. God bless you, until you meet again...
