'come, Come Sweet Seasons'

I want this cold Winter to be over- longing to hear all the little birds sing; just love beautiful Spring with skies azure, I wish to be in forests green ambling; and dipping my toes in a stream babbling, and picking the wild flowers unfolding. Over the meadows wild the north winds fly- making all the small white daisies tremble, Summer is knocking- Spring I say goodbye; I do enjoy hot steamy days blissful, and bright red roses hanging so graceful; and butterflies in my garden jungle. All the trees lay down their emerald gowns- there is a great whirling of gold and red, all the Fall leaves are now crinkled browns; migrating birds fly high with their wings spread, and rain is falling on my garden dead; and Winter is coming soon- that I dread. How pretty the first filigree snowflakes, soon, I will be making Christmas fruitcakes! ____________________________ January 20, 2018 Poetry/Urban Sonnet/Come, Come Sweet Seasons Copyright Protected, ID 18-1112-561-01 All Rights Reserved. My dear friend, I find this absolutely wonderful. I may study urban sonnets a bit and then write one. Love the flow, beauty and subject of this fine gem!!! A fav..

DM, thanks for visiting my poem, my grandma used to make her own fruitcake and I recall it was a long and complicated recipe which involved a lot of dark rum !

Wow, this is brilliant... Love someo f hte lines and the descriptions.. IF this does not finish first, I will be shocked!!!! I have not seen an urban sonnet before.. I wonder if it might be an idea to invent a rural one :)

Silent, thanks for visiting and for the lovely comment. It was Laura Loo who presented the Urban Sonnet in one of her contests and I think others have too, and I have embraced it because it is really a lovely option to a regular sonnet. I like your idea !
