The sun shone and our love was born. Your golden hair, it did adorn. Green was the grass, and too, your eyes, that flicked and danced like butterflies - the day our love was born. The sky above was sapphire blue, It was endless. Our love was too. Rose flushed your cheeks, and red your lips, as our souls, like our fingertips, touched, intertwined and flew. Must everything, once born, then die? and colorless tears fall as we cry? Must our love story fade to black? Is there no chance to get it back? Can we give it one more try?

Dear david, what a touching and sincere poem, and youve described her so well, she must be stunning! And the way youv rhymed throughout this poem is so catchy and youv woven emotions in a way that readers can resonate and feel. I especially love the way youv questioned at the end “ Must everything, once born, then die? and colorless tears fall as we cry? Must our love story fade to black?” sigh! So sad, how everything eventually fades and dies leaving us wishing, and wonderinf, if there’s any chance left. That ending did resonate with me! So i love this! Thank you for sharing~ congratulations on your win

Hi Ink, thanks for the placement and kind review! I think your prompt of love and pain influence me to put in a little of both. BTW, related to a comment you made on another poem, I'm just about to fire up some ginger tea:-) first time I made it.

Thanks Kim, glad you liked it. One thing I was worried about was the word "flicked". It didn't seem quite right, but I decided to go with it since it was what popped into my head. It might be a malaprop for something else.

' our souls, like our fingertips touched, intertwined and flew. ' This thought is so beautiful and romantic. The emotions within caress gently around me, David. So tender and loving are your thoughts. Congratulations my sweet friend, on Poem of the Week. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

A lovely colourful poem David. Sometimes love is like a rainbow, deep and colourful at first, then fades away as loves goes astray. Congratulations on receiving the honour of poem of the week… Beryl

Thanks Beryl. At first I was going to make it about a color wheel, and mixing colors, like I learned as a kid, but that seemed to complicated!

Beautiful, not sure if I missed the first line, I have no ida why but now and then soup seems to cut off the top of a posted poem, as is 5 lines per verse seems not yet above is a line half cut off, weird!

Yeah David, go for it - no harm in giving it one more try. Lovely romantic rhymes. I'm there cheering for you. oops, got my reply jumbled up, but you know what I meant, I just remember another song lyric, "like the gamblers say, read 'em and weep". - lol - it's all part of life.

Thanks Maria. There's a time to appreciate what you've had, and move on, continue the journey. Some things exist only for a moment in time, and aren't meant to be caught, like the songs they say "you can't catch the wind" and "know when to hold them and when to fold them". definitely agree with you - "no
