Colors In the Sky
"Two doves in white flying, feathers glow beneath the morning's rainbow colors" - Charles Messina
The sunburst colors drape the horizon,
intermingled crimson and gold ripple away
with the wafting fringe of the silken cloud of silver
onto the periwinkle panorama of the morning sky.
Before the spent sun scales the cerulean dome,
waiting to turn purple with the twilight tinge,
storm surge splashes condensed ink
from the ashen cauldron of the swirling cloud.
As the shades of grey fade away,
the aureate rays of the setting sun split
into the chromatic ribbons of rainbow,
and through its archway two white doves fly.
Their feathers shine in pristine splendor
with the patina of the colors in the sky.
