Color of Autumn
Of what mystery
bathes a mantle
of dazzling stars,
robed in golden beads
as wisps of feathers
reel along a breeze
ordained to welcome
autumn’s descent;
while fireflies roam
pirouetting on trees
with amber leaves
that herald
November’s poise:
gently, dusk changes
its skin to fine tones
so golden like hues
of a new moon.
This yellow twill
inflames night’s kohl
where handmaids of wind
glide beneath my feet,
as the mild streak of
quietude abides…
calm in its wild blend.
