Cold Coffee

He slowly sips every drop whilst he dissects the morning news Coagulating cream congeals in his china cup Coffee coloured rings form with every sip If the cup was a tree I could tell its age Written from observing a local man in our local coffee shop He sits for hours reading the newspaper for free and makes his coffee last... 08-30-17

DAMN.....this is good Jan. Really like the Haiku-ish last line. I have a "favorite" coffee cup my grandkids gave me years ago.....it holds many secrets.

I read some of the comments Jan, it is true that's how the rich get rich however it doesn't seem to make them happy. Your poem is brilliant! I loved it! : )

He is a VERY rich man and goes into the coffee shop with his wife... they sit there and read the papers and don't have a refill... no wonder he is so rich he is so mean!:-0 hugs jan x
