Cockroach
I’ve never understood humans.
A species that craves connection-
A species that never wants to be judged,
but always seems to be judging.
Afterall, they created a system called politics-
Let’s just say, we bugs don’t operate that way.
Whizz I am
The most human-judged majestic cockroach,
That you ever will meet.
A unicorn by trade,
Iridescent beauty at night,
Tranquility walk,
Okay, okay run and
With a mother who never wanted me to feel ugly or
Like I’m nothing.
So, those are all the holograms as to which she
Styles me; Harry Styles has nothing on this roach.
The world sees me as a disease,
She sees me as a phoenix flame.
Whizz I was named, after my non-motionless,
Dashing, formless escape, that
I brilliantly and dreadfully developed one day, after
trying not to be morphed into a cream bug-like
Pancake-
by a Hitler.
Hitlers are like deadly fraternal twins
One goes on the left,
The other on the right,
And it seems to be a weapon of choice
To humans alike. Despite if we try to keep out of sight or make friends
With these flesh creatures.
It seems our species only brings one thought pattern to them at a time.
Still, I am species with a heart and a brain,
With friends and family, despite them always trying to murder me.
I still look beyond death, past judgment, and with optimism of possibility
That humans will stop trying to Hitler us
And that regardless of our differences
We all share a connection
Of life and death
Of feelings and everything in-between. For I am not just a bug,
I am unicorn that speaks and sings-
My living experience.
