Cock-A-Hoop

Burst of brandished flaming arrow,
Thump of bunnies against my chest,
Cupid’s straight pointer did narrow,
Continue my family crest.

Squawking souls of birds in my nest,
Potent from moonstruck bolero,
Crescendo of lust’s citrus zest —
Cock-a-hoop’s sunstruck sombrero.

Kim, I smiled throughout this... love the unexpected rhymes bolero/sombrero and the happy chatter of the birds. Congrats! ~ John

Wow This is really good, Kim. Funny, I actually found that word Cock-A-Hoop in the dictionary a few weeks ago and I used it in one of my poems. Well done...Congratulations on your win! Charlie
