Clown
"You can live your life like a clown, hiding your emotions
and pain behind a fake mask and smile." Quote_Constance La France
I have lived life on the edge of a chasm,
every step I take could be a mistake;
I am always so close to falling into an abyss,
and I keep all my emotions inside.
I wear a mask with a smile painted on.
like a clown in the circus I play my part,
I can be anything you want me to be;
but you will never guess my infinite pain,
hidden behind my clown mask.
I learned to do this in my twisted childhood,
it was easier to just smile sweetly;
I hold all the pain I have experienced within me,
oh, I wear my clown mask so well.
It is only when my front door closes,
that I can remove it and reveal the real me;
with eyes that could shatter your heart,
should you look too deeply into their depths.
