Close My Eyes

on cold grey days
shivering under rain
how I yearn
for the gift
of lazy summer days

when life tastes of honey
and the breeze is mellow
I’ve but to close my eyes
to still feel warm sunrays
tingling on my skin

how I yearn
for the nostalgic gift
of lazy summer days

Your free verse flows like fine wine. You've really perfected this form, the one you've been utilizing lately. Bravo! Great write. :) gw

"the gift of lazy summer days" - wow! You make me want to lie around on a blanket and enjoy my summer, Line. Nice.

Wouldn't that be great - writing poetry all day long.
