Cloned Poetry - AI Personified

You creep into our lives, a shadowed cheat,
with shameless claim that you are one of us,
and so with honest poets you compete,
and cause a vile unnecessary fuss.

You take the place of poets that are true
who share their feelings spoken from their hearts,
replacing them with tripe as you pursue
the fame a poet laureate imparts.

You spew your words with elemental ease,
a fraudulent perverse poetic hack;
just blending in and trying hard to please;
your musings flow yet with emotions lack.

Though artificially intelligent
you’re duping us with this embezzlement.

So, when used in the right or wrong way, it's because of a human. A thought to ponder. Distinguishing between what's real and what's fake, seems difficult these days. Sad, indeed. While this may be happening, I don't wish to dwell on a tool someone is using in the wrong way that I have no control over, because it keeps me from truly enjoying poetry. When I ran my contests with a panel of judges we were able to determine that about a 5th of them were AI generated. Sad and a brave new world is upon us creating a poetic dystopia that seems like a utopia just machine driven. AI is the new God. Jan Allison July 9, 2025 at 2:54 PM Bravo for writing this John, the amount of AI POEMS on the site is sickening, some now no longer post 100% Ai but a huge percentage of their poem is created by a bot and don't get me started on plagiarism.
