Notes About The Poem

Clinomania is an anxiety disorder where a person likes to stay in bed for as long as possible and has no intention of waking up. Clinomania is associated with other anxiety disorders such as depression and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but it is different in a lot of ways.

Clinomania and Me: a Love Poem

I stirred, I stretched, I woke this morning,
Then again at one,
And I knew that by about two p.m.,
My day had just begun.

Still, I figured I had to stay in bed,
For just a little more,
In case I came down all sick,
In case my head was sore,

So I stayed in bed till three p.m.,
Till my work day had flown,
I stayed in bed the whole hard working day,
For a comfy day alone,

Alone from work, family and friends,
Alone inside my head,
Alone with my Clinomania,
Loving the whole long day in bed.
