Clenched Fist

I live in blatant frustration
Watching people decry their situations
Yet happily voting to continue their own pain
Suffer in silence if you must

Why is it you rail against universal healthcare?
You'd pay the same
Given insurance eats so much of your paycheck
That taxes couldn't hope to reach it

Is it merely who would receive it?
Do you clench your fist
Knowing those you consider lesser may live another day?
Does it sting that badly?

Would you sooner face a legal shotgun's barrel
Than pay for your neighbor to inspect their cough?
Does this assumption anger you?
That I assume you're against man?

You needn't fear if you stand with Jesus
The true one written on the holy pages
You clearly stand for the weakest among us
If you fervently devote yourself to His side

So if you're still upset
Take a look down deep inside
Why is it that you think your fellow man deserves less
In a land where so few have so much

And how well off are you?
Would a cancerous diagnosis drain your bank?
Could you afford a round of shots?
Would it decimate your bank?

So I beg you all who listen
If with God you truly stand
To raise your arms in defense
To defend your fellow man.
