Civil Rights
I value my civil rights as much as anyone,
And have been prepared to stand alone,
When are others have said they were done,
But now is not the time to take up a megaphone,
Throw a stone,
Or to speak in a different tone
When civil rights I will have none,
If I am dead and gone,
With Covid -19 still on the other end of the phone,
Because I refused to toe the line,
And took away options for others to live out their time,
In a world where civil rights will bring about a healthy incline,
Not a steady decline.
