Civil Rights

I value my civil rights as much as anyone, And have been prepared to stand alone, When are others have said they were done, But now is not the time to take up a megaphone, Throw a stone, Or to speak in a different tone When civil rights I will have none, If I am dead and gone, With Covid -19 still on the other end of the phone, Because I refused to toe the line, And took away options for others to live out their time, In a world where civil rights will bring about a healthy incline, Not a steady decline.

We will have to keep an eye on what the future brings. Hopefully, after all of this, we can go back to some normal. I loved your poem, David. I hope you are safe and well. JC Hawkens

I agree. We will have to be on the lookout for white elephants and make sure they never see the light of day. Roads to nowhere and fast racking too many projects should also be kept to minimum. But I am hopeful that we will come out of this stronger and wiser. Regards David in NZ

Yes. Have to keep an eye on our civil rights after lockdown particularly with fast tracking of projects though. Good luck to you and your family during and after lockdown. Best regards David in NZ. Thanks again for reading and commenting.
