Cityscape

Hustle and bustle
Of downtown
Menacing skyscrapers
And their shadows
Sensing the gravity
Picking up the pace
Rushing from point A
To elusive point B
Traffic signs and lights
Pressure building
The simmering stress
The outsider rushing
Through the haze
Glaring through fog
Reminiscing the days
The rush the panic
Surreal and frigid
Illusory haste
Made up and fake
Fraudulently grandiose

Been a city kid all my life....and as the Bard once stated......"full of sound and fury, signifying nothing"......or something like that. Nicely done Line..

The frenzy, the irritation, the insanity, the unnecessary rushing and shoving and meanness. It feels so unnatural for me; fraudulently grandiose is right.

You are so right, Caren. Stay away. On the other hand... when you do see someone being kind, it really stands out. Thanks for your visit and comment.

Yup. Exactly. You've nailed it. It's all fake hustle and bustle---though so many thrive on it. Well-penned!
