City Scapes

City scapes
Street lamps awake slowly to its rhythm’s
Silver neon’s reflecting electric cold heat
Phosphorescent shadows echo from
The still night off the black streets of tomorrow

Blighted tenements amidst the
Bleak gardens of despair
Naked piles of broken lives left wayside
Remains of our deadened pasts
Between the worlds of life and death
Extinguished invocations of here and now
Amidst the ashes of hope and doubt
Life persists in life itself

Ceaseless humming of the buzzing drone
Trapped within its trappings
Pedestrian dwellers callused in their sleeping wake
Attracted flies move toward
Mechanical waste of dying dreams

Alienated silences self destruct
open itself amidst the banished slums
imploding disorder within the vortex of empty thoughts
left to their own devises crystallized memories
come alive again
