Cigar For Love
I ventured to a parlor
of pretty children of Eve
I identified one of heart
but she offered me a cigar
telling me; “smoke it daily
I’m in that smoke alive
If you do so loyally always,
your lungs, heart and soul
I’ll dwell and give you peace
I tried another but in vain
She gave to me her photo
telling me; “for those I reject
I give photo for consolation.”
I whispered to another,
again I failed miserably
She gave me a head-less doll
telling me put it near your heart
on your bed pillow with it
my heart’s there but not for you.”
I asked myself, why, why me?
I search for a beauty for full life
but I’m given other things!
I decided to write sweet poems
praying a kind one would read
slowly, passionately the verses
to ebb me from this sweet ordeal.
