Church Bells

Church Bells Do you recall the church bells ring? When Sunday morning it would fall Oh, the sweet joy that they would bring Much pleasure from something so small The steeple standing there so tall For a small boy such a great thing I remember standing in awe Do you recall the church bells ring? It's a dream to which I would cling The man that pulled the rope and all To look up and see the bell swing When Sunday morning it would fall With ritual I was enthralled My footsteps were now full of spring As nearer the church I would draw Oh the sweet joy that they would bring Sound filled the air, floated on wings At 10 the old man didn't stall The little choir began to sing Much pleasure from something so small I recall tracks thru the snowfall Walking thru the creek in the spring By the sound of bells I was drawn To hear stories about the King Do you recall?
