Chrysalis

As healthy relationships go
Ours is as fit as a fiddle
Peak condition
Well fed on truth and 
Admission

Tantrums I’ve thrown each
Childish full-blown 
Cherished by love and 
Compassion grown
From vulnerability

Liberty born on
The scream of my song
Heard as blue bird angels
By the heart of my biggest fan
This man of mine

Cocoon for emergence 
In it’s early delicate form
For him I’ll be me
I’ll share who we are as we
Love
Now, then, ever be.

Charlotte Puddifoot April 22, 2016 at 5:48 AM just had a quick look at some of your work, and this is the one that stood out for me; some interesting, effective phrasing, especially in the third stanza...the single best bit of advice i can give is to avoid cliches/familiar sayings such as "fit as a fiddle" wherever possible...i see you're relatively new to writing poetry - definitely keep exploring the free verse, i think it resonates with you Fiona Callaghan April 22, 2016 at 12:30 PM Thanks Charlotte, I really appreciate your feedback.
