Christmas Poetry Contest, sponsored by Constance La France. Date written: 12/06/2023

Christmas Memories

 A time of togetherness 
 with entire family.
 The unwrapping of presents
 under Christmas tree.

 My father telling stories 
 about to birth of Jesus.
 Christmas Eve trips to the store 
 accompanying Mom. 

My relatives visiting 
 and I'd join them in singing 
 popular Christmas carols; 
 wondrous memories!

 Pining for a white Christmas; 
 sometimes going to movies 
 or driving around with Dad.
 Oh, those were fun times! 

Watching biblical epics, 
 especially "King of Kings." 
 The first time I saw Santa 
 I'll never forget!

Andrea Dietrich December 16, 2023 at 10:33 AM Yes. I miss it too. Reruns of white Christmas and other movies, the driving around to see decorations, etc. Especially the treats. Today we are lucky to see even 1/4 of homes decorated. Fear of robbers taking them or just too busy to be bothered. Congrats, Edward. Woke up in the morning and it was gone! I was so sad, lol. Ah, memories....
