"For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given . . . "
Isaiah 9:6-7
Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year
a time of joy, kindness and of giving
time for family love
time to open hearts
and also the beginning
of Jesus's story . . .
oh, past Christmas memories swirl
stockings on the fireplace I recall
blinking Christmas tree lights and presents
snowflakes falling gently outside the house
memories coming flooding back
the music, the food, the mistletoe . . .
now, I place a star on my tree
to represent Jesus's birth star
and I will go to midnight mass and pray
and feel the presence of God
Jesus and the Holy Spirit within my soul
and at home there will be togetherness . . .
my message . . . celebrate Christmas day
but don't ever forget what this holy day represents
