Christmas Eve

CHRISTMAS EVE

riding the wind
a thousand christmas bells
swirl city corners
custom country steeples
ring round my splintery old pew

in a ponderous quiet
on this hallowed eve
i’m forgetting the dreary
remembering those hundred candles
mother singing oh holy night

christmas eve
no snow
torrents of rain
santa comes round
in a pontoon plane

Love the form of several Tankas to construct a poem. Love what you did with this theme...Christmas Eve.

Love how you took the serenity of that special night and bookended it with humor. Oh Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song. I have loved it ever since we mutilated it in the 5th grade for our Christmas concert. What was the teacher thinking giving that song to a bunch of 10 year olds?

Just saw this at PFT. I love this whole set!! You don't know of PD?? Who also calls herself Linda? I am so surprised, Daver. Surely she has visited you in the past???

I've always suspected PD has a few aliases. Sh is wonderfully mysterious. Love, daver
